A secret paradise
The Old Vicarage offers a relaxed tipi wedding venue nestled in the heart of the Nottinghamshire countryside.
The Old Vicarage was created from the love of our beautiful rural setting and inspired by the wildlife and nature that calls us home. Open from April to Mid-October, our setting makes a stunning backdrop cross Spring, Summer and Autumn. Set away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
The Old Vicarage provides a secret paradise exclusively for you and your guests. Our indoor and outside licensed wedding places are the Pergola and Osbourne Suite.
Wedding Ceremonies in The Pergola
You'll walk through The Old Vicarage main entrance doors down to a 100 foot hessian bridal path. On to our Pergola made of Oak and Larch. It’s bordered on one side by the stream and two sides, under a great purpleleaf plum tree (Prunus cerasifera) trees. There’s daisies and buttercups, hazel, willow and oak are watched by the elder, guardian of the woodlands.
Giant bull rushes and reeds on the waterwheel island give a feel of another time, another place. If you've already tied the knot elsewhere (often with our overseas couples) then you can have a totally personalized ceremony out on the grass, pergola or in the tipi.
You'll seat 4 to 150 guests in comfort outside the pergola.
Straw bales with coloured rugs look rustic on the grass for bigger numbers.
You'll have space in the Pergola for the Registrars (the two Council officers who officially marry you), and two witnesses make sure you contact them pronto to arrange your ceremony date & time.
There's room for musicians, piano or Celtic harp.
The pergola has big beams & cross members in the roof are perfect for decoration. Whether its a simple strand of white wedding bunting, a twist of wild ivy or more elaborate flowers.
our bespoke licenced Pergola
Our licenced Pergola stands overlooking the shallow banks of the river Poulter.
Our bespoke natural oak Pergola has been hand chosen from deep in the midst of the forest, ensuring the Pergola was picked from the straightest of oak tree trunks, to hold the oak and larch shingle timbered roof. Inlaid with natural Yorkshire stone slabs.
The pergola can be decorated with flowers and garlands, lit with candles, lanterns or lamps to provide a feature for your wedding and the power points are used for music during and after the ceremony so your party can relax and chill after the formal stuff.
