Our Venue

The Old Vicarage was born out of our passion for the stunning rural landscape. Nestled in 5 acres of woodland countryside, it's a perfect space for you and your loved ones to unleash your creativity. The Old Vicarage offers a hidden paradise just for you and your guests.

Open from April to mid-October our venue offers a breathtaking backdrop throughout Spring, Summer, and Autumn, far removed from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

With a sparkling stream winding through the grounds, a play area, stepping stones, luxury accommodations, glamping, camping, a 500-million-year-old sandstone bar, and rope swings over the stream, it creates a relaxed intimate atmosphere.

The Cave Bar

The Old Vicarage at Elkesley provides endless opportunities to tailor your experience. If you're in search of something unique and adventurous, our Cave Bar is the perfect destination.

Nestled within 500 million-year-old sandstone, our distinctive Cave Bar is a must-visit during your stay. It's an ideal centerpiece for any wedding celebration.

Enjoy a few drinks before and after the ceremony in the Cave Bar, with heavy-duty gazebos available for inclement weather and to shelter musicians. The Cave Bar is included for your pre-wedding drinks.

A unique wedding venue

The village of Elkesley lies on the east side of Clumber Park and on both sides of the river Poulter. The village today consists of about 2016 acres of land. The greater part of which is said to have formed a wild tract of forest until the latter part of the 18th century when enclosure took place.

The Old Vicarage is situated in former monastic land most of which belonged to Welbeck Abbey. Even today the Abbeys secrets are still being revealed. It's subterranean passages having been used to store the Nations art treasures during the Second World War.

The Old Vicarage Associations

The Old Vicarage is pleased to be able to support both the Historic Houses Association and the Rectory Society.

Firstly, it is because we recognise the beauty and charm of history. We know that any historic house must have been loved by its owners for many years just to have survived and what better place for a wedding based on love than within a house that has been equally loved.

Some of the trees at the Old Vicarage are 300 years old, while others are as yet young. We feel we have to maintain the legacy handed down to us by planting new trees so there will be both young and old trees for our children and our children’s children to enjoy.
