It was late in April and we had just said goodbye to a charming couple who had been visiting us prior to booking their wedding, I was suddenly made aware of the sudden and quite dramatic changes that have taken place to the flora and fauna in just the last 2 weeks.
Having received much positive feedback from the March Photoshoot (really a completely ad-hoc affair) and knowing that our photographer would hate to miss this opportunity, I grabbed my box brownie and the slideshow above shows the results
Both the flowering Cherry and the real Cherry tree looked beautiful in the afternoon sunshine and I took several pictures of the Flowering Ornamental Cherry from different angles.
The next 2 slides show the Magnolia; a recent addition to the gardens. Although very young it seems to have established itself, and despite the sudden cold spell, it has produced blooms. I shall watch its progress very closely over the next few years and believe it will become a breathtaking sight as it matures.
Walking eastward I came to the real Cherry tree standing half in the shadows of the majestic Wellingtonia. Moving around and being careful to avoid the Bluebells and the emerging Tiger Lilly I took another shot before moving on.
I duplicated some of the shots Chris had taken so that you could see how much has changed in just a few short weeks.
To my left stood the magnificent Wellingtonia, towering proudly above all else and dominating the entire scene.
Finally, as dusk fell I tried a few shots of the house; a sight that will be familiar to many of our brides who have opted for one of the marquee packages
